My Home State of Rhode Island

Rhode Island, affectionately known as “The Ocean State,” is the smallest state in the United States, but it packs a big punch with its rich history, stunning coastline, and charming New England character. Founded in 1636 by Roger Williams, Rhode Island was a haven for religious freedom and became one of the original thirteen colonies to declare independence from British rule.

Geographically, Rhode Island is bordered by Connecticut to the west, Massachusetts to the north and east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Despite its small size, the state boasts over 400 miles of beautiful coastline, offering picturesque beaches, quaint seaside towns, and serene coastal landscapes.

Rhode Island is famous for its maritime heritage, delectable seafood, and the prestigious sailing events held in Newport, known as the sailing capital of the world. The state’s capital, Providence, is a vibrant city known for its thriving arts scene, historic architecture, and renowned universities.
